First and foremost, I would like to say thank you to all the brave men and women who have served our country. Happy Veterans Day.
Presently, I’m sitting in an eerily quiet school. COVID-19 has come to Saguache again. This week, we had several positive cases in our school. In cooperation with Saguache County Public Health, we have decided that it is in the best interest to shut down the school from November 11-18. Students will be learning remotely during that time. We plan to resume in-person learning on November 19th.
Fall sports have now finished. Congratulations to our volleyball and football teams on their seasons. Our Indian football team recently travelled to Cheyenne Wells to participate in the playoffs. While the outcome was not what we hoped for, the team gained valuable experience and is already making preparations for next season. Special congratulations goes to Yessenia Vera for her selection to the second team all-conference volleyball team.
Despite the fact that we are going to remote learning, the entire staff at Mountain Valley continues to work hard to meet the academic/social-emotional needs of your children. We believe that open communication between school and home is imperative to help us reach our goals. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have questions, comments, or praise to offer.
